What To Expect

Pompey's Pillar
The only single column marks the site of what was once a huge and elaborate temple, which was constructed of marble and decorated with precious metals on the interior. Some of the tunnels around the complex remain and are open for tourists to explore and some of the artifacts from the temple have been recovered. A life-size black basalt bull from the temple and a golden plaque marking the foundation of the Serapis are on display in the Greco-Roman Museum.

Qaitbay Citadel :Sultan Qaitbey built this picturesque fortress during the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman Empire. His efforts were in vain since the Ottomans took control of Egypt in 1512, but the fortress has remained, strategically located on a thin arm of land that extends out into Alexandria’s harbor from the corniche.

Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
The Arabic name translates to English as “the mound of potshards”, referring to the broken dishes and plates that marked the area before the tombs were discovered below. This extensive complex of impressively decorated tombs dates from the Roman Era and are considered as one of the “Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages”.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina
Standing on the Alexandrian Corniche, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a vast and striking example of modern 21st century architecture, but the building recalls something much older. The library and cultural center were inaugurated in 2002 as part of a huge project to commemorate the city of Alexandria’s legacy as an ancient center of world learning and culture.

Best driver and guide in Cairo
fredkY7830RM, 13-04-2022
Having a private car, driver and guide is a must to truly see the highlights and we were lucky to have this team on all our excursions including Alexandria. We were able to tailor our trip and get the most of of our day at our own speed. Our driver Mustafa, whom we had during the entire time in Cairo is the best driver. He was able to safely get us through traffic jams without issues. He was very polite, always greeted us with a smile and attentive to our gtoup's needs, ensuring we stayed hydrated and safe exiting the car offering assistance. Our guide Hend, was also very knowledgeable, soft spoken and helped us understand the culture and history of her country. She also helped with special request to see specific sites and also with the best places to shop. In addition, she is a very good photographer and knew exactly where to take the best photos. The ones she took of us will be some of our best memories. I truly believe these two people were the best we could have asked for and we wisb to thank them.
Amazing

We visited Alexandria with Hend and a driver. It was amazing. Hend went above and beyond during this trip and even took us to her favorite ice cream store. Memphis Tours is the best tour agency we have ever experienced and we have traveled extensively throughout different parts of the world. We highly recommend the Memphis private tours when visiting Egypt.

The visit to the library was awesome and I loved the Citadel as well. Our tradisional lunch was delicious. Thank you Ahmed and our competent driver, Mamdouh.

Hired Memphis tour for additional one day trip in Luxor after our big day. Our private guide Nabil Reda was really amazing. Knowledgeable and patient. We learned so much about history and Egyptian civilization.

The tour was very informative and we got to see all the main sites. We could understand our guide well and the van for the long drive was very spacious! Deen and Bogy our amazing guide and driver brought us lots of water and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of the whole time!
