The Nike river cruise was exceptional due to Ahmed Salama knowledge and passion of Ancient and Modern Egypt. In particular his skill to connect history and archaeology into an interesting story.

Amazing river Cruise

Was the perfect cruise to see Egypt for the first time. Although the boat didn’t travel far up the river, the chance to jump off and see the sights and towns was cool experience. At the end of the trip due to flying out of the airport later the tour guide organised additional sights to view while we where waiting for the plane. Very happy with the knowledge and flexibility of our guide Amr, and really appreciated the heads up before we jumped off the boat before going into local towns on what to do and not to do to make our experience more enjoyable

If you do a Nile cruise, just do it with Mo

Mo is amazing. I was worried about going to Egypt with just a female friend (both of us are in our late 20s and neither of us had been to Egypt / Africa or speak Arabic). We did the 5 day / night cruise from Luxor to Aswan and added both a trip to the Nubian villages and the excursion to Abu Simbel. We weren’t sure about either but thought both trips were the highlight of our vacation.

Aside from the sights themselves, what makes Mo great is his energy - always happy, friendly, patient to answer our many and disorganized questions - his knowledge (he has 16 years of experience as a guide), and the way he’s organized (you rarely wait for a driver because Mo usually arranged for seamless transitions). He gives you lots of optionality so you can choose to do something or not without any bad feelings. We changed our minds back and forth on the Nubian villages and Mo was very calm and supportive throughout. Also, he showed us the botanical gardens, which were very special. When we thought the people selling us essences (perfumes) were giving us an unfair price, he helped us figure it out. So it’s really great to have someone you trust and who cares about you having a decent time as your 5-day shepherd.

In sum, with Mo you get detailed information, a stressfree and pleasant time, and fun.

This touring company is the best in Egypt. Mohamad Badawy is their top guide.

Everything was well planned. With detailed instructions sent in advance of what was to happen. From the moment we landed, there was a person waiting for us. From then on, we had our quide with/available at all times. Private driver, private guide. 4 bottles of water a day.

Our guide Mohamad Badawy was superlative. He was simply wonderful and kind. Mohamd is knowledgeable, fluent in english, understanding and basically our eyes and ears for the whole trip. He guided us in all aspects of travel, eating, touring, history, shopping, currency exchange, everything. He told us when, where and how much to tip. He really took our vacation and tour to the next level!

If you can, request Mohamad as your guide!

Mohammed was such an incredible tour guide! As three young(er) women, he sometimes treated us like we didn’t know what we were doing (sometimes he was right and sometimes he was wrong), but quickly acclimated to us as tourists—knowing when to give us guidance and when to let us do what we wanted. He made sure that we were safe and had everything we needed. When we got super sick early into the trip, he immediately made sure that we had anything we needed by taking us to a pharmacy as soon as we were docked. He was willing to add things we wanted into our schedule (organized through the tour service and obviously it was extra $). The HIGHLIGHT of the trip was touring the Nubian village and swimming in the Nile (which was something he arranged through the tour service). He was incredibly knowledgeable, especially about the Karnak temple! Egypt Unlimited Tours itself was incredible: timely to pick up from the train station and drop off to the airport (it would have been so much harder to navigate the airport without them—they took us right to the security).

The cruise was fine—appropriate for the cost. Our housekeeper was incredible, though. It was our tour guide that really made it :) My favorite part of the cruise was sitting in the front of the ship while we were sailing—worth it for that alone.

As far as the cruise goes: please be aware that the top deck smelled a like gas when we were docked and that people were CONSTANTLY smoking outside. Coming from a part of the US where there’s remarkably less smoking, that was a little difficult to adjust to. But it’s common throughout Egypt, so what can you do? The cruise wasn’t big so we got seasick pretty quickly—bring Dramamine if you’re even a little suseptible
