Great time in the countryside

We had an amazing time with our camel ride at Nobi stables. The camels, Ramses II and Ali baba, were treated very kindly by the people working at Nobi Stables, which is the reason why I chose this experience.
Quiet Camel Ride into the Desert on Healthy Camels

After more than a year of planning and research, I knew my trip to Egypt would not be complete without a camel ride. However, I was concerned about the welfare of the animals and had read many reviews that in general the horses and camels were underfed and in poor health. Not so with Nobi's Arabian horses and camels.
I emailed Nobi and he immediately responded answering my questions. We kept in contact over the months leading up to my arrival in Luxor. When I did confirm a 3 hour sunset camel ride into the desert, he said my friend and I would be picked up at the hotel. Little did we know our "transportation" would be two camels!! We mounted up and our camel masters began leading us through fields and villages. I talked with Ali who was leading my camel about his experience training horses and camels. He relayed to me that Nobi does not tolerate animal abuse-ever.
Before leaving the USA, I had watched a uTube video about how to ride a camel (yes, I'm that geek). Ali assessed my skill and handed me the rein. Michael Jackson and I plodded along at a sedate pace. Like my friend's camel, he was quiet and moved with the typical side to side motion. His coat was groomed and the camel-specific saddle was not only comfortable, but also in pristine condition.
Eventually we emerged from the lush green countryside into the desert just in time for the perfect sunset photo op. Ali asked for camera and in addition to still photos I was encouraged to communicate to MJ that I wanted to trot a few paces. Ali filmed a video of me riding a camel and looking like I knew what I was dong.
We continued our journey toward the stables where we were met by Nobi. He wanted to show us his Arabian horses. He is obviously proud of them and rightly so. Like the camels they were healthy. Nobi said he has a vet come to the stables on a regular basis for well-checks. Most of the horses came right up to us as we walked through the pastures. None of the horses or camels were tied up or stall-bound.
Throughout the 3 hour ride I always felt safe and therefore relaxed. If I'm lucky enough to return to Egypt one day I will ride at Nobi Luxor Stables again.
Great!

I can’t say enough about this. Riding a camel here is an experience I will never forget. We had an hour morning walk in the countryside past mango and banana groves and got a chance to see areas off the beaten path.

The horses and camels appear to be well cared for.

Note that this is on the West side of the Nile but they arranged for a boat to pick us up at and take us back to the Hilton on the east bank. Of course there was a charge, but we also got a Nile cruise out of it. At the West bank they were waiting for us and we had a 2 block walk to the stable.
Great camel riding incl Nile river trip

We took a 1.5 h camel ride with Luxor / Nobi stables today and had a really great time.

I could easily arrange the booking incl pickup by WhatsApp.

We took a boat ride along the Nile in the "New Titanic" for a while, lots of stranded Nile cruise boats all along the way but also some nice scenery.

Then we met the owner, Nobi, at the docking place and went straight up on the camels a few metres away. I had been somewhat scared before, however it was all very slow, soft and smooth.

About 1-2h ride along the river and across the villages was quite interesting as you can see how local farmers live, how houses are built etc. The camels were led by 2 guides who provided some comments on where we were going along.

All in all a great experience and very much recommended.
Slow and relaxing ride

Good two hours of gentle camel riding, Ishlam the older guide was excellent- his English was good enough to communicate ok. We just wandered around the local villages near Luxor on the West Bank and then back along the Nile. Very slow and gentle and relaxing!
No hard selling which was good.
I only give four stars as the younger guide made some unguarded comments to my teenage daughter- I think these were misunderstood as his English was not the best but were easily misinterpreted as inappropriate!
The camels seemed friendly and well looked after and we had a nice ride.
