Abydos
Your day tour begins with a 7:00 a.m. pickup from your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor by a licensed tour guide. You\'ll be transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to the city of Abydos, located to the north of Luxor. There, you\'ll explore two of the most complete temples in Egypt. The Abydos Temple is dedicated to the Ancient Egyptian god of the underworld and is believed to be the burial site of the god. Built by King Seti I and completed by King Ramsess II, it\'s also known as the Temple of Seti I. Located about 420 km south of Cairo in the Sohag Government, and 135 km from Luxor, the paintings of the gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are some of the most beautifully preserved in Egypt. Afterward, you\'ll visit the Temple of Hathor at Dendara, which may be the best-preserved temple in Egypt, with full colors still visible on its walls. This temple is located approximately 135 km from Luxor.
