What To Expect

Abu Simbel Temple Complex
At 8:00 am Emo Tours expert Tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and drive to the south of Aswan which is around 3hrs drive to enjoy Abu Simbel day tour from Aswan by air-conditioned vehicle.

The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt.

They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Spend around 3 hours there then take the way back to Aswan

This article is about the Egyptian queen and wife of Ramesses II. For other persons by this name, see Nefertari (disambiguation).
Nefertari, also known as Nefertari Meritmut, was an Egyptian queen and the first of the Great Royal Wives (or principal wives) of Ramesses the Great.[1] Nefertari means 'beautiful companion' and Meritmut means 'Beloved of [the goddess] Mut'. She is one of the best known Egyptian queens, among such women as Cleopatra, Nefertiti, and Hatshepsut, and one of the most prominent not known or thought to have reigned in her own right. She was highly educated and able to both read and write hieroglyphs, a very rare skill at the time. She used these skills in her diplomatic work, corresponding with other prominent royals of the time. Her lavishly decorated tomb, QV66, is one of the largest and most spectacular in the Valley of the Queens. Ramesses also constructed a temple for her at Abu Simbel next to his colossal monument there.

Best way to travel to Abu Simbel!

We stayed in the Nubian Village during our trip to Aswan, and we're glad that Emo Tours was able to accommodate our request for private pick up and drop off. They communicated very well from the start until the end of the tour. We had a 4am tour to Abu Simbel and our driver, Mohammed, arrived on time and was very kind and helpful. He made the 3-hour drive to and from Abu Simbel pleasant, comfortable, and safe. The car is spacious and clean. We did not hire a tour guide and just wanted to sleep in the ride, and the fact that we fell asleep so soundly (while in the middle of the Sahara desert) says that he is a very good driver. It was an easy trip and we're thankful we booked this ride (better than riding a bus)! We highly recommend booking this ride.

The best guide and tour to Abu Simbel!

We took a day trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel with Sameer as our guide in late July 2022.

Firstly, the Abu Simbel temple is magnificent and a must-see! We had a hard time deciding whether the Karnak temple or Abu Simbel temple was more impressive - Abu Simbel does have beautiful, detailed carvings inside, something which isn't there at the Karnak temple anymore.

Secondly, our journey with Emo Tours was very comfortable in a large air conditioned van with stop at a delicious lunch spot in Abu Simbel.

Finally, and importantly, Sameer was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable, explained all the history to us in detail, and critically gave us a detailed map of the carvings inside the temple. The map was crucial to understand the carvings inside, since guides aren't allowed inside Abu Simbel.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour with Emo Tours and Sameer as your guide :)

Quick and safe private ride to Abu Simbel—they picked us up and took us back. There was one bathroom stop on the way down. Abu Simbel was very cool! Also incredibly hot in July

The driver was profesional and very kind.
Amira from emo tours helped us a lot with the passports because we could deliver them on time.
A good car and punctuality, we gave a good tip for the service as it worths it. You can see the temples uncrowded
