A unique experience

We booked this trip at very short notice. The team keep us informed of what we needed to take with us and pick up times and arrived promptly at our hotel in Sharm El Sheik at 9:15 pm. The drive took around 2.5 hours, but would have taken far longer if it wasn’t for our driver’s rapport with the guards at the check points throughout the journey.

We arrived at the car park at the base of Mount Sinai and after some good natured selling attempts by the local merchants we ended up buying torches for 1 USD each. Although we were walking during a full moon it was still useful at times. We were introduced to our local guide, Ahmed, who was taking us to the summit.

The walk is on mixed path from concrete, to sandy and finally rock. Trainers were fine to wear (some people do this walk in sandals and one group did it in heels apparently). We went on a Tuesday night and it was quiet which made far an enjoyable walk sometimes watching the stars in silence. We got out of breath in places, but Ahmed ensured there were plenty of rest stops.

After about 2.5 hours of waking we reached the top and had sometime to wait for sunrise. We did the climb in June and it was about 15 centigrade, so take something warm to wear.

Sunrise was a special experience. Thankfully it was relatively quite at the summit - I could imagine your experience could be spoiled if it was really busy.

We were leaving Egypt that day, so skipped the St Catherine tour and headed back.

All in all, a very well organised unique experience hosted by friendly, knowledgeable people.
Awesome night hike

I went to this 8 hour night hike with my wife and it was stunning. Ahmed the guide and the driver picked us up from our hotel and took us to the base of mt. Sinai. A Bedouin village guide took us to the summit in about 4 hours stopping in between as required. The view from the top is breathtaking during sunrise. The Bedouin guide was skilled in taking photos and took great pictures of us. We came back down to the monastery at 8:40am as planned. The monastery opened at 9am and we headed back to the hotel at 9:30am. We had a flight at 2pm so the driver drove faster to cover 150km in 2 hours. Overall Ahmed took great care of us and I would recommend this tour with tripster.
Unforgettable Hike With Great Guides

Shaaban and the Tripster Egypt team put together an amazing experience. Despite the short notice on our booking, they made it happen and got us to Mt. Sinai in time to make the hike to the peak by sunrise. The Beduoin guide they booked for us to bring us up and down the trail was friendly and knowledgable of the lore of the mountain. The hike itself was enjoyable. The path is about 5km, but mostly winds up switchbacks on a slight incline for 80% of the hike, making it pretty tolerable for anyone in reasonably good health/fitness. The one hard thing is the elevation; you start out around 1000m and keep going up to the 2300m peak. The air gets a little thin and you may find yourself having to stop to catch your breath even though the hike itself isn’t that strenuous. The 750 stairs at the final ascent are not that hard, but make sure to turn around for the excellent view halfway up the stairs, it has some of the best photo opportunities on the peak IMHO! They may warn you it gets cold at the peak; we went in June and it was no worse than a cool summer’s night in the Midwest, we were in jeans and short sleeves the whole time. And don’t worry, if you do get a little chilled there are some Beduoins who will sell you $2 coffee at the peak! The view from the top of Mt. Sinai is unforgettable, as is the experience itself. It may be a hassle to lose a night’s sleep for a hike, but it’s worth it. This hike was probably the highlight of my entire time in the Sinai peninsula region, I would highly recommend it. Booking with Tripster Egypt will be one way to make sure you get the most from this hike, so be sure to check them out! They are extremely flexible, and were the only tour company able to accommodate us for the short window of opportunity we had to do this hike. If you want to get up Mt. Sinai, they'll help you to make it happen.
