Overview

When your cruise ship is in Alexandria port, meet your guide and hop inside your private, air-conditioned minivan. Then, enjoy the views as you journey south through the Nile Valley to Cairo, Egypt’s bustling capital. On route, hear snippets about Cairo’s history and the Giza Pyramids.
After roughly three hours, arrive at the Giza Plateau and marvel at the exteriors of the UNESCO-listed main pyramids: Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. Hear the secrets of these ancient tombs and how and why they were constructed from your guide.
Then, descend to the feet of the Great Sphinx and learn about this mysterious human-headed lion sculpture. Capture photos and then stroll around the nearby Valley Temple, believed to have been part of the funerary and mummification complex for the pyramid of Chephren.

Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu)
The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903.
